The Bedford County Board of Supervisors approved an ordinance April 14 raising the county nursing home’s private‑pay per‑diem rates by $10 per day effective July 1, 2025.
School/health staff (Paul) briefed the board that the typical annual adjustment aligns private pay with Medicaid reimbursement changes. The facility’s last rate increase was in 2023; the $10 raise for 2025 is intended to cover the $5 increase that was not implemented in 2024 and to align the facility with the 2025 Medicaid rate schedule, staff said.
Under the approved rates, the county’s per‑diem proposals are: shared room with shared bathroom: $274 per day (from $264); private room with shared bathroom: $279 per day (from $269); and private room with private bathroom: $284 per day (from $274). The board opened the hearing and received no citizen comment. Supervisor Johnson moved to adopt Ordinance 0041425‑05; the motion was seconded and carried on a unanimous roll call.
