CJCC staff to present 2024 annual report to county board; committee reviews goals and trends

The Dunn County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) executive committee reviewed the 2024 annual report to be presented to the county board and discussed updates on 2025 CJCC goals, program data and regional trends.
Sarah, CJCC staff, said the CJCC will present the 2024 annual report to the Dunn County Board at its May meeting and asked the executive committee for input on content. "We have recidivism data ready to go," Sarah said, noting that including all data produced a lengthy report but that program outcome highlights could be included.
Committee members recommended emphasizing outcome framing for treatment court and program successes. County Manager Chris Korpolo and others said presenting gains (for example, participants who left the program with stable housing or employment) helps provide context beyond raw recidivism percentages.
Staff provided updates on 2025 CJCC goals: a law-enforcement deflection work group has met and is working on job descriptions for a case manager/social worker position tied to behavioral health officers; a DNA collection and mapping session is being scheduled for late spring or summer; and staff noted treatment court referral rates in surrounding counties have dipped.
Director Paula Winter shared county health ranking data highlighting higher-than-peer rates for excessive drinking and alcohol-impaired deaths in Dunn County, and agreed to provide those materials for inclusion in the CJCC packet. The committee set no formal motions on the report content but instructed staff to prepare the annual report with the suggested outcome framing and data highlights.
