TOLLES Career and Technical Center staff told the Dublin board the center will add 50,000 square feet, with groundbreaking planned for June and a target opening in January 2027.
Mr. Melody, who presented the update, said the project will be paid from the original 1.8 mills voters approved in 1972 and that the center is proceeding without new levy funding. He reported that 895 students were accepted into senior-only programs for next year and that the center is adding staff to support growth, including a second criminal-justice instructor, a fifth pre-nursing instructor and a third cosmetology teacher. Melody said instructors redeployed from satellite programs closed for low enrollment will return to the main campus.
Melody also noted an accreditation review of the adult-education program and said state and federal accreditation was expected by August or September; that accreditation would allow expanded adult programming and federal funding for adult education. He invited board members to an open house and a dinner prepared by the culinary program on April 23.
The board did not take action on the update; the presentation was informational.
