Policy 7600 (occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens) was revised to reflect procedural changes required by law and combined with related procedures; a related transportation drug- and alcohol-testing policy (policy 7300) was updated to incorporate required language from the Code of Federal Regulations for CDL drivers, based on an audit finding.
A visitors-to-school policy presented for second reading would clarify processes for bringing visitors into schools to maintain safety and security; staff invited board feedback. Staff said these changes are procedural and intended to ensure compliance; no substantive programmatic changes were proposed.
The board agreed to move forward with the consent items and second reading as presented, with final action to follow in normal course.
