Council approves consent agenda including two paving contracts, evidence locker purchase and confirmation of two officers

Staff presented five consent items: approval of minutes from Feb. 18 and Feb. 24; award of the 2025 milling and paving contract to LHC Incorporated; award of the 2025 asphalt materials contract to LHC Incorporated; award of a police evidence building locker storage system contract to AADS Office Solutions in the amount of $121,900; and confirmation of Officers Chris Olsen and Kat Edson after completion of their one-year probationary period.
City staff recommended confirming the two officers. A department representative provided biographical information: Chris Olsen graduated from Western Oregon University, previously worked seven years as a probation officer in Washington state, relocated to Montana and looks forward to growing in police work; Kat Edson graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in criminal justice and previously worked for Gallatin County and the Montana Department of Corrections. Both completed the Helena police academy and the Kalispell Police Department field training program.
Officer Kat Edson addressed the council and said, “It’s really been a pleasure serving the people of Kalispell... I look forward to serving you.” Officer Chris Olsen also thanked the department and community for the opportunity to serve.
Council approved the consent agenda by voice vote. The listed contract awards and officer confirmations were recorded as approved.
