Norwalk commissioners remember longtime member Samuel Bridal after his death

At the start of the Jan. 8 meeting the commission’s chair announced that Commissioner Samuel Bridal, who had served on the Fair Rent Commission for several years, had died that week.
The chair said Bridal was "steadfast" and "loyal to the city of Norwalk," and noted he also served as a selectman and was active in District C. "He was just a great person in the community, very dedicated to Norwalk and his commitment to Norwalk should be remembered," the chair said. The chair said details about funeral arrangements were not known to the commission that evening.
Commissioner Hansen Guest and other commissioners said they expected to coordinate with local contacts to learn more about the family’s arrangements and to consider a commission acknowledgment or other memorial. Carlos Duque, the commission’s coordinator, said the commission could "do something for the family or for his memory" and commissioners agreed to discuss options outside the public meeting.
No formal motion or official memorial action was adopted during the meeting; commissioners requested follow-up information from contacts in District C and agreed to revisit any proposed recognition when more details are available.
