Norwalk arts mixer drew more attendees than expected; commission gains contact list for outreach

The Norwalk Arts & Culture Commission recapped a November mixer held in collaboration with Space 67 Studios that staff and commissioners called highly successful.
"I think we had over a hundred RSVPs... I think we had at least 90 people that checked in," Janae Sylvester said, summarizing attendance. Staff said several attendees were walk-ins and that the event partnered with six or seven organizations who helped promote and speak at the mixer.
Commission staff said they collected attendee emails and that 13 people completed the commission’s arts database sign-up form. "We have those emails... we have 13 people who completed that," Sabrina said. Commissioners said the attendee list and signups give the commission a starting point for future outreach and programming.
Members thanked event partners and staff support and discussed using the momentum to run more regular or varied events, including small concerts and panel discussions. Commissioners noted that additional staff capacity will make more frequent events feasible and discussed using operating funds to pay performers and panelists.
No formal action was taken at the meeting on the event recap; commissioners said they expect to use the attendee list and database for follow-up outreach.
