Denise Brown, representing the Oak Hills Park Authority, told the Finance and Claims Committee on Jan. 9 that November was a strong operating month for the park. Budgeted net operating income was about $326,000; actual net operating income for November was roughly $479,000 — about $153,000 above budget. Brown said the park paid about $99,000 to the city toward debt service, which included roughly $24,000 tied to the audit's 1% charge.
Brown reported the cash balance at the end of November as about $843,000 (including invested funds) and noted the park typically draws on cash during December–February when operations slow. She said the restaurant at Oak Hills has new hours (Wednesday–Sunday, opening at 11 a.m. with weekend closing around 9 p.m.) and is programming live music on some weekend evenings; Brown said she had seen social-media posts promoting the new menu and events. The park completed the first half of its bunker project and plans to initiate the second half in fall 2025.
Committee members asked whether the park is technically closed in January–February; Brown said the course remains open for walk-on play and the golf shop is operating with reduced services and cart storage.
No formal committee action was required on the report; committee members thanked Brown and requested a February update.
