Dana, speaking for the public works department, recommended the low bid and noted the project is the next item on the resort tax priority list. Councilor Giuseppe, who cited the contractor's strong performance on prior work on Cairo Avenue, moved to authorize the director to proceed; Councilor Cornell seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Councilors praised the contractor's past work and noted increased foot traffic and neighborhood safety benefits following prior street projects. Staff indicated HDR prepared the final design and that HDR representatives were present to answer technical questions.
