The Stevensville Town Council voted 3‑0 to award a contract to Energy Systems LLC of Billings to install a self‑service fuel station at the Stevensville Airport.
Airport staff presented a recommendation that the council concur with the airport board’s selection of Energy Systems LLC, citing a bid amount of $425,000. “After careful examination of the bid, we're hereby requesting that it takes concurrence in the order of the contract to Energy Systems LLC with the bid amount of $425,000,” airport staff said during the meeting.
The presenter said Energy Systems’ bid was below the engineer’s estimate of $464,300. The company did not list subcontractors on the bid form; staff reported Energy Systems told the town it will perform the work in‑house and will use an on‑staff master electrician for the electrical work. The airport board reviewed the two bids and recommended award to Energy Systems LLC.
Council member Cindy Brown made the motion to award the contract; a council member identified in the record as Barca/Barca seconded. The roll call during the vote recorded Councilor Smith, Councilor Brown and Councilor Barker voting “aye.” The motion passed 3‑0.
Council discussion noted the bid tabulation and the airport board’s review. Staff said the selection will be sent to the Federal Aviation Administration as part of the usual concurrence/contract process.
The council’s action directs staff to proceed with the FAA concurrence and contracting steps; no construction schedule was specified at the meeting.
