Lebanon City Council approved on April 14 an additional appropriation to replace the generator at Fire Station 12.
Tanya (city finance staff) told council the existing generator is the original unit installed when Station 12 was constructed and is now at the end of its useful life. Staff solicited quotes for replacement and reported a likely purchase price of roughly $35,000; the council approved an additional appropriation of $40,000 from the city's Local Income Tax (LIT) fund (fund 02/1940) to cover the generator and potential incidental electrical updates.
Staff opened a public hearing on the appropriation; no members of the public spoke. Council then approved Resolution 20 25-08 to increase the appropriation and fund the generator replacement. Council voted by voice and approved the appropriation; staff was directed to proceed with procurement and installation.
Deputy Chief Young was present and indicated support for replacement to maintain station resilience. Staff noted the appropriation was noticed properly as required for additional appropriations and will be processed through the normal purchasing channels.
