The council authorized the purchase of a new 25-gallon sprayer for municipal maintenance work and deferred a separate computer purchase while staff gathers pricing and software requirements.
Maintenance staff said the existing sprayer “nearly came apart” during last season and staff tested options. The board reviewed two sizes and accepted a Tractor Supply option priced at about $529.99 for a pump-equipped 25-gallon model; members discussed the tradeoffs between a 25-gallon tank (easier to move, less waste) and a 45-gallon tank (larger capacity). A motion to buy the sprayer was seconded and approved on a voice vote recorded as “Aye.”
Separately, the council debated acquiring an all-in-one desk computer for maintenance and a laptop or iPad for reporting. Staff reported refurbished options and noted that software purchases remain outstanding. Councilors said they wanted better price comparisons and durability before authorizing a purchase, and moved to table the computer procurement until more information is available.
The council also discussed tires and mower maintenance for town equipment; no final large tire purchase was authorized at the meeting. Members instructed staff to assemble quotes and return with recommendations.
