The Missoula City Council confirmed Natasha Prinzing Jones to the Missoula Redevelopment Agency (MRA) by roll-call vote on April 14.
Councilor Sheryl (full name shown on record as Sheryl) nominated Prinzing Jones and spoke in favor of her reappointment, noting her legal work on behalf of the city and her role in a recent water company acquisition. Mayor Andrea Davis said she observed Prinzing Jones’s contributions on the MRA and recommended her reappointment.
During council discussion, Councilor Jordan said her opposition was procedural: she voiced concerns about MRA oversight, the agency’s budgetary autonomy and the fact that MRA terms are not subject to voter approval. Councilor Campbell expressed similar transparency concerns but said he would support the nomination because leaving a vacancy would not address those process concerns.
The roll call produced eight yes votes and two no votes with two members absent; the chair recorded the motion as passing. Prinzing Jones’s term begins May 1, 2025, and expires April 30, 2029.
