Representatives from Tyndall Subaru and the Gaston County Education Foundation presented a $25,245 donation to the board on April 14, the district said, citing Subaru of America's Share the Love campaign and local dealership contributions.
Amy Spencer, executive director of the Gaston County Education Foundation, described the funds as supporting local school programs including English Language Learner (ELL) supports and an Inslee grant; she said a portion of every applicable car sale at the dealership also goes to the Foundation. The board and superintendent acknowledged the donation and thanked the dealer partners.
A board member noted the check "is already allocated for this year" and district staff said the money will be used to support identified programs this year. The presentation included several community partners and a photo opportunity; board members thanked the donors and encouraged community support for local school fundraisers.
No board action was required; the presentation was a recognition of the Foundation's partnership with the dealership.
