The Franklin Economic Development Commission approved minutes from its Feb. 21, 2025 meeting, voted to go into closed session to discuss current prospects, and adopted a schedule to meet every other month beginning after the April meeting, contingent on the commission bylaws.
A motion to approve the Feb. 21 minutes passed without recorded opposition. The motion and second were stated during the meeting; the chair called the vote and members answered “Aye.”
The commission then moved to a closed session to discuss current prospects. A member made the motion, another seconded, and the vote to go into closed session was approved.
Commissioners discussed whether the commission needs to meet monthly given the current workload and suggested a trial of meeting every other month to free staff and member time. One commissioner said the change should be “by the call of the chair” and the group agreed to meet in April and begin alternate-month scheduling afterward, contingent on checking the bylaws.
A motion was made and seconded to begin an every-other-month meeting cadence beginning in June (with the April meeting to occur as scheduled); the motion passed. The commission adjourned following the vote.
