The City of Perry opened its first public hearing on a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application for program year 23–24, with consultant Andy Easton describing the application timeline and the role of a door-to-door income survey to establish eligibility.
Andy Easton, of Andy Easton and Associates, told the Perry City Council the application deadline is May 2 and that the city must show that a sufficient share of residents have household incomes below the state median to be competitive. "This is a door to door survey, a random sample survey to find out what the average income is in the area," Easton said.
