Board confirms Raymond Hunter as General Services director and Michael Kerr as IT services director

Fresno County supervisors on March 25 confirmed two senior appointments created by an internal departmental reorganization.

Ed Hill, chief operating officer, recommended Raymond Hunter for director of General Services and Michael Kerr for director of the Information Technology Services Department and county chief information officer, both effective March 31. Hill described the county’s split of the previous Internal Services Department into General Services and Information Technology Services and said both appointments followed a competitive recruitment.

Raymond Hunter, who the county said holds multiple degrees and experience managing facilities, contracts and capital projects, introduced family and colleagues at the meeting. Michael Kerr, who holds a master’s in public administration and a project management professional certificate, said he would focus on aligning IT strategy with county goals and fostering interdepartmental collaboration.

Supervisors welcomed both appointments and the board voted to confirm the appointments by voice vote. The confirmations were procedural and did not include discussion of compensation or specific operational plans during the meeting.
