Evans said the grant paid for office furnishings and helped him maintain a free weekly martial-arts class at the North Greenwood Recreation Center and a second weekly class at the West Coast School of Human Development serving about 17 students. He said he also started a seated tai chi class for seniors that meets the second Thursday of each month and that participants receive T-shirts; the group also shares a lunch after sessions.
Evans thanked the board and staff for the funding and described the grant as the reason he could sustain these weekly and senior programs at no cost to attendees. He did not request further action during his remarks; he offered the statement as appreciation and program update.
