The Muskego City Finance Committee on March 25 approved routine licensing and fiscal items, including a class A liquor license for Sunfish Ventures LLC doing business as Lakeview Shell, an alcohol permit for Raised Grain Brewing Company for a National Night Out event, and a series of vouchers and transfers totaling several hundred thousand dollars. Committee members also flagged and temporarily withheld a $300,000 voucher for the Little Lake item pending clarification.
Licenses and event permit The committee recommended approval of a class A liquor license for Sunfish Ventures LLC, DBA Lakeview Shell, located at S76W17871 Janesville Road; the motion passed unanimously by voice vote. The committee also approved a full‑service retail outlet permit for Raised Grain Brewing Company, DBA Raised Grain Brewing Company, to serve alcohol at Veterans Park West for Muskego National Night Out on Aug. 13, 2025, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Vouchers, transfers and payroll The committee approved utility vouchers totaling $10,074.07; tax vouchers and settlements totaling $355,935; general fund vouchers of $264,397.76; debt service wire transfers of $1,289,635; and payroll invoice transmittals of $412,743.07. Each item was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
Held item pending clarification Alderman Decker questioned a line item related to Little Lake that appeared to be for $300,000 and said the amount did not match other numbers in the packet. A staff member told the committee that even if the committee approved the voucher that night, staff would not release the payment until they could explain the discrepancy. "Even though if you approve it tonight, I'm not gonna release it until I have an explanation for him," the staff member said. The staff member said they would check for a typo and report back before releasing funds.
Other business and adjournment The committee approved minutes from the March 11 meeting, approved vouchers for refunds and tax settlements, and voted to adjourn at 6:06 p.m.
