City reports progress on parks projects: scoreboard, playground purchase, scout cabin repairs and new trails environmental work

Public Works staff updated the Cloverdale City Public Works Infrastructure meeting on multiple parks projects, reporting progress on a donated scoreboard installation, playground equipment procurement, Scout Cabin repairs and a new trails/park environmental review.
At Fervent Park staff said electricians are installing power for a scoreboard funded largely by Little League and the league agreed to cover the scoreboard purchase while the city covers electrical hookup. Staff said they were working ahead of forecast rain to finish the electrical connection. For Navy Park, staff reported the playground equipment has been purchased and installation is expected in the coming months; staff said they will notify the public via city channels.
Regarding the Scout Cabin, staff said the structure is aging and described short-term shore-up options such as reinforcement, pressure washing and staining; staff and Council members plan to inspect the overhang and discuss quick fixes and potential upgrades in conjunction with planned Scout Cabin improvements.
Staff also described ongoing work on a new park/trail area (referred to as the SQL/Sequel project in the packet): the city hired an environmental consultant (referred to as SQL), has an invoice pending and expects the consultant’s environmental analysis to be completed around May. Staff reported a contractor (Ken Wells referenced) is preparing a minor contract/service agreement and that trail construction is expected to take roughly six to seven weeks once environmental clearance and contracting are complete; staff said they aim to open the park before winter.
No formal votes were taken on these park items at the meeting; staff said procurement and permitting steps will continue.
