The board approved the contract by voice vote; the motion passed 6–0.
After the vote, Brian Bell addressed the board and community, saying he was "excited and just honored for your vote tonight" and that he looks forward to beginning the assignment on July 1. Interim Superintendent Francis Lynch and board members attended the public portion of the meeting when the contract was approved.
The board did not take additional action on related items during that moment of the meeting. Any required administrative steps to finalize the contract — for example signatures and personnel processing — were conducted immediately after the vote.
