City plans to apply for $3 million transportation grant for shared-use path; 20% match required

Separately, staff described plans to solicit design work and bids for multiple sidewalk projects under DeKalb County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding. The CDBG solicitation and the county’s municipal funding letter were discussed; staff said the county’s municipal request deadline is April 7 and that the city will pursue four sidewalk segments in its application packet.
Staff said the CHAP grant application will be brought to the council in March for approval to apply, and they asked the committee to note the deadlines so staff can secure required support letters and local commitments for matching funds. No final funding awards or council votes were made at the meeting.
