The Historic Preservation Board approved a certificate of appropriateness to enclose an existing second‑level terrace at the Sorrento Tower (Scarpetta restaurant), located at 4441 Collins Avenue. The applicant proposed expanding an existing enclosed area so that more terrace space becomes interior dining. City staff confirmed the change is limited to the existing terrace footprint and will not affect street-facing facades.
Applicant counsel and design representatives presented elevations showing the enclosure’s materials and profiles, describing the work as consistent with existing building architecture and not visible from Collins Avenue. No members of the public registered opposition at the hearing, and the board voted to approve the enclosure.
The approval allows the applicant to proceed to building-permit review for final construction details.
