CPKC Holiday Train presents $4,500 check to Village of Hartland food bank

The CPKC Holiday Train presented a $4,500 donation to the Hartland Community Food during a holiday event in the Village of Hartland, Village President Jeff Banerstow said.
A CPKC representative told attendees that, since 1999, CPKC programs have raised more than $26 million and collected more than 5 million pounds of food for local food banks. The check presentation at the Hartland event was made by CPKC engineer Mike Strady.
Village President Jeff Banerstow thanked attendees and donors and named Lynn Mintern, identified during the event as retiring from the Chamber of Commerce, for helping bring the train to Hartland in past years. "Merry Christmas, everyone," Banerstow said during his remarks.
Organizers also asked attendees to share photos and videos taken at the event using the event hashtag noted during the program. The presentation was ceremonial; no formal municipal vote or government action was recorded during the event.
