Village awards $15,752.66 contract to rewire Nixon Park scoreboard and flagpole light

The Village of Hartland on Jan. 13 approved a budgeted electrical contract to rewire Nixon Park’s new donated scoreboard and to add improved lighting for the existing flagpole.
Staff said the donated scoreboard requires power and a CAT5 communications cable and noted the existing wiring to the old scoreboard had been direct-buried wire without conduit. The lowest qualified bid came from Southeast Electrical Service for $15,752.66; staff recommended awarding the contract to that bidder. The scope includes running two separate conduits (one for power and one for CAT5) from the canteen to the scoreboard, a power box at the scoreboard and an outlet at the flagpole, plus installation of a flag light aimed at the flag.
Trustees asked about conduit diameter and future power needs; staff said they will verify conduit sizing so additional cable or power could be accommodated if future events require it. Board members moved, seconded and approved the contract by voice vote.
Staff said the project will be scheduled to minimize disruption to field use and that timing will aim to complete work before the start of the spring season.
