The chief recommended approval under local policy because the alcohol-related matter fell outside the village’s one-year disqualification period and because the matters were civil citations rather than criminal convictions.
A trustee asked whether the intoxication-in-vehicle citation necessarily implied impaired driving; staff clarified it did not indicate an OWI arrest or conviction. Trustees moved, seconded and approved the license by voice vote. The board recorded the motion as carried.
