Donkwood said Councilman Johnson serves as an associate coach and praised the city's support for youth programs.
Carlos Delgado spoke on behalf of his family about a perceived disconnect between police enforcement and vehicle-ticketing procedures. Delgado said family vehicles parked near the family home received tickets despite being registered to the address and that a visiting relative who registered a vehicle online as a visitor still received tickets that were mailed to an out-of-state address. He requested to speak with city staff after the meeting to resolve the matter and asked staff to check plate records and towing warnings.
City staff responded during the meeting and invited Delgado to discuss the issue immediately after the public comment period.
Each of the three comments was limited to the public-comment period and did not result in council action during the meeting. The church invitation and community recognition were ceremonial; the parking-ticket concern was referred to staff for follow-up.
