The Connecticut Real Estate Appraisal Commission on Jan. 8, 2025, approved minutes from its Dec. 11 meeting, accepted continuing-education equivalencies and course submissions, approved an applicant's experience log and authorized that applicant to schedule additional PSI exam attempts through the end of 2025.
The actions formalize routine licensing and education matters and clear several applicants to move forward in their credentialing processes. The meeting also included course-approval votes and a scheduling change for the February and March meetings.
The commission voted to accept the minutes of the Dec. 11, 2024, meeting. It approved two continuing-education equivalency submissions from Michelle Gamache (a two-hour equivalency and a separate five-hour COVID continuing-education equivalency), giving her a total of seven hours on the day's submissions.
The commission reviewed and approved the experience log submitted by applicant Steven Frey Jr. The commission then authorized Frey Jr. to attempt the PSI licensing exam up to three additional times, with a motion limiting scheduling to no later than Dec. 31, 2025; staff said they would notify PSI and follow up with the applicant once PSI updates its records.
The body also approved two batches of course submissions listed on the agenda (AAL1326 through AAL1348, AQB-approved unless otherwise noted; and AAL1329 through AAL1351, non-AQB-approved courses) and recorded votes in favor.
Commissioners voted to flip the meeting formats for February and March: the February meeting will be held virtually and the March meeting will be in person. The meeting closed after a standard adjournment vote.
"They can just send me an email at dcp.realestateappraisal@ct.gov," DCP staff said when inviting public comments and instructor participation on the commission's law-course revisions; staff asked that comments be submitted by Jan. 17.
The commission's staff said they would notify the PSI vendor and the applicant by email after the commission's motion to authorize additional exam attempts was entered on the record. Staff also said they would place the applicant on the agenda next month for sample selection and continued review of his submissions.
The commission handled the items in the meeting's usual order, moving from minutes and old-business updates to new-business licensing items, course approvals, legal updates and investigations before adjourning.
