Resident urges Wausau council to stop 'shenanigans' and focus on work in public comment

Carrie Morole of 1025 Everest Boulevard spoke during the public comment period Tuesday and called on the Common Council to “bring people together to actually get some stuff done,” urging members to stop what she called “shenanigans” and “bullying.”
Morole said social-media disputes and what she described as childish behavior erode public confidence and make the city “look bad as a community.” She addressed her remarks directly to the mayor on the dais and said taxpayers expect the elected officials to work constructively. “We need to find a way to stop the shenanigans, stop the bullying, and get to work,” Morole said.
Morole added that much of the community shares her view, saying she read social media comments and believed a “large majority” agree the conduct is “silly.” She closed by urging council members to “put that stuff aside so we can get some work done.”
No formal council response was recorded in the transcript during the public-comment segment; the council proceeded with agenda business afterwards.
