The resolution thanked Lynch for guiding coordination with state agencies on several road projects.
Tom Lynch spoke briefly, reflecting on accomplishments and acknowledging controversies tied to major projects such as bus rapid transit and street redesigns. He said the work required “courage” from council members to make difficult decisions and thanked the council for its partnership.
Council members from across the chamber praised Lynch’s years of work, recounting earlier projects where he served in consultant roles and noting his role rebuilding the city’s transportation department. The council recorded a unanimous vote to adopt the commendation and several members invited Lynch back for future ribbon-cutting events.
