Finance-related actions included approval of Resolution No. 01-001-25 authorizing deposit and investment of county funds and adoption of the county investment policy. Commissioners also approved an increase in the county mileage reimbursement rate for business use of a personal automobile from $0.67 to $0.70 per mile, effective Jan. 1, 2025, to follow the IRS standard mileage rate.
The board accepted a grant award from the Fremont Area Community Foundation not to exceed $54,000 for construction of three camping cabins in county parks and authorized the board chair and parks director to execute documents. The board also approved a Fremont Area Community Foundation grant for Newaygo County Safe Schools bleeding control kits (final approved amount recorded in the meeting: $13,600) and authorized execution of related documents.
The board accepted a 2025 Economic Development Partnership grant award from the Fremont Area Community Foundation; the motion recorded in the minutes referenced $50,000.
