Archway initiative to host monthly 'Skill Up and Stand Out' workforce sessions starting April 9

Terry Partain, representing the local Industrial Building Authority and Archway workforce initiatives, briefed the board on recent industry roundtables and announced a new monthly workforce program.
Beginning April 9, and continuing on the second Wednesday of each month through the end of the year, Archway and partners including the Chamber of Commerce and WorkSource Georgia will host “Skill Up and Stand Out” sessions at the Adult Learning Center from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The program aims to assist unemployed, underemployed or returning workers with resume building, online application assistance, basic computer skills and interview preparation. Partain said flyers are posted at county channels and social media and asked the board to help publicize the sessions.
Packets containing information compiled for recent industry roundtables were left for the commissioners; Partain said DCA staff marked a county reference in a statewide packet celebrating the state authority’s 25th year.
