Solid Waste Superintendent Ed Tapia told the City of Kingman Clean City Commission on Jan. 16 that a city pilot offering free neighborhood cleanups to residential solid-waste customers has produced higher participation after outreach was shifted from door-knocking to water-bill distribution.
Tapia said the program allows eligible residential customers to schedule a curbside bulk pickup of up to 5 cubic yards, with restrictions on construction debris, vehicle parts and tires, loose dirt or rock, propane tanks and hazardous waste. Customers are notified through their utility bills and call the solid waste division during a two-week window for the area assigned by billing cycle.
