The Kingman City Council voted to approve Ordinance 19-63 (RZ24-004), rezoning two parcels totaling 1.18 acres at the northeast corner of Florence Avenue and Stockton Hill Road from R-16 (single-family residential, 6,000-square-foot minimum) and C-1 (neighborhood convenience) to C-2 (community business).
Jason, a planning staff member presenting the item, said the rezoning would unify multiple existing zones on the site under one C-2 designation and would allow the property to be developed as a group home or congregate facility proposed by the applicant, Delmonico Real Estate LLC on behalf of the Monaco family. Jason said the proposal is consistent with the city's general plan and surrounding zoning. He also reported the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval 6–0 at its January 8 meeting and that the item met noticing requirements.
The council opened and closed a public hearing; no members of the public offered comment. A motion to approve the ordinance passed and the mayor announced the motion carried.
Ending: The rezoning clears the way for the applicant to proceed with site development under the C-2 district standards; staff will follow normal permitting processes for specific development proposals.
