Parks staff report 2.5 miles added to Camp Beale Loop, master plan approved by council; Omaha Drive path progresses

Assistant Superintendent Matt Golder gave the commission a detailed update on Kingman’s trail system, reporting new trail construction, maintenance and planning work.
Golder said parks crews and part-time trail keepers cut 2.5 miles of new trail and revitalized about 1.5 miles in the Camp Beale Loop revision project, with a focus on adding more beginner-friendly "green" trails and features such as berms and pump-track elements. "They added 2.5 miles of trail to the Camp Beale Loop system, and then revitalized another mile and a half," Golder reported.
He said signage is in production and that Trailforce and QR-code mapping are planned for trailheads. Golder also said the trails master plan procurement has progressed: "It was approved last night at the council meeting," he told commissioners.
Other projects reported included the Omaha Drive shared-use path (a donation from Angle Homes) where crews are clearing desert in preparation for grading and paving, and a conceptual 20-mile downhill trail that would cross multiple land ownerships and could make Kingman a destination for trail users.
Golder and commissioners discussed increased trail use since the Camp Beale updates and several volunteer and partner contributions. No formal votes were taken; the report was informational.
