Baltimore County — The Board of Education of Baltimore County accepted the Policy Review Committee’s recommendations for proposed changes to three board policies at its Feb. 25 meeting, listing them for further review in the board process.
The committee recommended proposed changes to board policy 31‑60 (review and approval of school‑sponsored activities), policy 72‑40 (school site selection and acquisition) and policy 73‑10 (design and construction costs). Christina Pumphrey, chair of the Policy Review Committee, presented the report and noted the materials were included with the meeting exhibits (I‑1 through I‑3).
Nut graf: The presentation was accepted as a first reader and the policies will continue through the board’s normal review and adoption process; board members had the option to request separations for individual policies but took the committee’s recommendation as presented.
The board voted by roll call to accept the committee’s report. The vote authorizes continued review under the board’s policy process and places the proposed changes on future agendas for additional consideration, public comment and potential adoption.
Ending: The policies will appear in BoardDocs and return as required by the board’s policy calendar; any further amendments will be posted before final action.
