Drain commissioner seeks grant for dam removal; Board of Public Works plans 2026 sewer construction

Separately, the Board of Public Works reported it elected officers for the year and discussed a potential 2026 construction schedule for a sewer project serving Bankson Lake. The Board of Public Works said the project would be financed by a USDA grant and that Cass County would serve as fiduciary; the board expects more information and draft resolutions at an upcoming Committee of the Whole meeting.
The drain commissioner asked staff and commissioners to review project drafts when circulated and flagged the need to coordinate road repairs on Lawrence Road if the dam project proceeds.
