Student representatives report academic, arts and athletic achievements across WCPS high schools

Julia Gore, student representative from Parkside High School, reported on awards including an NAACP Black History Month essay contest winner, student publication, DAR scholarship recognition, all-state chorus participation, and athletic achievements including the girls basketball regional championship and a state pole-vault title by Reese Howard.
Ramon Rezwan, representing Wicomico High School, recapped drama productions, orchestra honors, All-Shore Band acceptances, counseling recognition for National School Counseling Week, and winter-sports milestones, including coaching and individual athletic achievements.
Dana Tyler delivered James M. Bennett High School’s report, noting musical theater casts, auditions for All-County musicals, decreasing chronic absences recognition, spring performances, solo and ensemble results, and upcoming SAT and prom events.
Evelyn Reeder reported for Mardella (Mardella Middle and High School), listing All-County honors orchestra and band acceptances, choir and orchestra solo and ensemble advances, playoff results in basketball and wrestling, and career and college-prep opportunities including a TidalHealth guest speaker and workforce-readiness events.
Superintendent Stauffer and Chair Malone thanked the students for their reports; the superintendent noted Julia Gore’s selection as a Maryland General Assembly student page and praised student participation at the county budget hearing.
