Students showcase OUE Bulldog Broadcast; staff and volunteers recognized

Students in the Odessa upper elementary (OUE) media club presented a short behind-the-scenes description of the Bulldog Broadcast and a video sample during the meeting. Club members described meeting three times a week to plan, film and edit the weekly show and said the group uses iPads and Magic Movie to produce episodes that run on Friday mornings.
District staff recognized Morgan Schauber (referred to as Miss Schauburg in the transcript) as a February Making a Difference Award winner for work supporting special-education staff and coordinating Special Olympics activities. The board also named Rob Weibel as the district’s community champion for the month, recognizing his decades-long support as a teacher, coach and volunteer.
Students who spoke included Bennett Burke, Ian, Layla, Finley, Macready Mahesh, Jenna and Paisley; presenters noted financial support for equipment from the district foundation and the PTO. Board members praised the students’ creativity and said the club gives participating students communication and technical skills.
