Andrew Larson, senior transportation planner, explained the vacancy resulted from a resignation for inactivity and that an appointee would serve a roughly three‑year term ending Dec. 31, 2027. Larson introduced Milban and said the council had one slot to fill.
Milban emphasized long‑term personal reliance on walking and biking and experience observing transportation systems internationally. “I have been pretty much a lifelong committed pedestrian. I've rarely had a license by choice. I choose to travel on foot or by bike or public transportation as much as possible,” she said. She told council she prioritizes non‑automotive modes and wants local improvements in pedestrian and bicycle safety.
Councilors completed the interview and agreed to include the appointment on an upcoming agenda for formal consideration.
