Springfield EDA selects new officers; Doyle named chair

The Springfield Economic Development Agency on Jan. 13, 2025, elected new board officers, selecting Doyle as chair, Corey Rodley as vice chair and Beth Blackwell as secretary for one-year terms.
Board staff member Mary Bridget outlined the election procedure at the start of the item, saying the board “annually elects new officers as a chair, vice chair, and a secretary. Those are for 1 year appointments.” She explained nominations do not require a second and described options for conducting votes.
Nominations for chair produced more than one candidate; the board closed nominations and each member announced their preference by name. After that vote, the board moved to nominations for vice chair and secretary. A subsequent motion to elect Rodley for vice chair and Blackwell for secretary carried on a roll-call vote with all members voting yes.
The board recorded no dissents during the elections. Following the votes, the meeting chair formally turned the meeting over to Chair Doyle.
The elections set the leadership for the Springfield Economic Development Agency for the coming year; the board did not take any additional action tied to the officer selections during the meeting.
