Lisa Grotto, executive director of the Albany Downtown Association, gave the council a downtown update during the business-from-the-public portion of Monday’s meeting.
Grotto highlighted a Nutria presentation by Mike Martin at the Albany Regional Museum during the History Bites series and said the downtown association is seeking hanging-basket sponsors for 2025, with individual sponsorships starting at $180. "Individual sponsorship started $180 That is enough to sponsor 1 basket for the season," she said.
Nut Graf: Grotto also previewed a downtown Easter egg hunt running from April 5 through Easter, organized with West Albany High School accounting interns, and promoted Mixology Madness, a Hollywood-themed cocktail sampling fundraiser scheduled for Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Flynn Block Hall; admission is $50.
Grotto noted a volunteer spotlight and recent parking-signage changes near Two Rivers Market to clarify parking for downtown patrons. No council action was taken; the update was delivered as public information.
Ending: Grotto encouraged attendance at downtown events and directed listeners to the association’s website for ticket and sponsorship information.
