The presenter said the district worked with Faribault Transportation to draw lines that meet enrollment targets while keeping travel times reasonable for young students. "When we spoke with Faribault Transportation, they said absolutely no more than 30 minutes on the bus for our youngest learners," the presenter told the board.
Staff said the boundary line running west‑to‑east into downtown remains unchanged; changes occur primarily in the Roosevelt area, plus a small section near the correctional facility and Highway 60 to meet enrollment targets. The presenter said the district left existing Jefferson and Lincoln students at their current schools so those families would not be moved.
Families, notification and transportation The district said it is testing its student information and routing systems so families can see bus routes and pick‑up times online. The presenter said the district is integrating data between the district’s Infinite Campus student information system and Transverza (the transportation routing software used by Faribault Transportation) and expects to notify families by March.
Ending Board members voiced support for the plan and for the district’s work with Faribault Transportation; the board approved the boundaries and moved on to a work session.
