The Intergovernmental Relations Committee of the City of Eugene elected Councilor Rose chair for 2025 after a unanimous voice vote during its March 4 meeting.
The nomination came from Councilor Evans, who noted the committee’s custom of an open nomination process and that the chair election was deferred earlier in the year because of scheduling. "I'd like to nominate Councilor Rose as chair of IGR for 2025," Evans said. Councilor Yang seconded the nomination.
The committee adopted the nomination by voice vote with all members present signaling assent. Following the vote, the committee handed the meeting over to the newly elected chair, who briefly took the gavel and continued agenda business.
The discussion and vote were procedural; no policy commitments or new tasks were attached to the leadership change during the meeting. The committee proceeded to the legislative update after confirming the chair.
