Delaware State University trustees enter executive session to discuss president's extension

The Delaware State University Board of Trustees voted Jan. 13 to enter an executive session to discuss a personnel matter concerning the university president, board Chair Leroy Tice said.

The special meeting opened at 11:02 a.m. with a roll call. Chair Leroy Tice said the board convened to discuss “our leadership, more specifically our president and the prospect of extending him, for a period which we determined.” No members of the public had signed up to comment before the board moved into closed session.

Tice led the roll call and thanked administration and staff for joining; Executive Vice President Dr. Irene Hawkins and General Counsel, Vice President and Chief of Risk Management Lucretia Moultrie were listed among attendees. A motion to move into executive session to discuss the personnel matter was made and seconded in the public meeting; the transcript records the board’s voice vote as “All in favor indicate by saying aye. Aye. Aye.” The motion carried and the board proceeded into executive session.
