University staff reported to trustees that the university executed a 10‑year contract with Workday for an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and that planning for implementation is underway.
Abby Benson, vice president, told the Finance and Facilities Committee that negotiations had been authorized earlier and that the university executed the contract in December. Benson said the state of Rhode Island is also implementing Workday and that being on the same platform offers administrative advantages. “It’s the beginning of a long process to implement Workday,” Benson said.
The committee was briefed that the contract execution follows prior board authorization to continue negotiations with Workday in November. No additional committee action was requested at the Feb. 3 meeting; staff said implementation planning has started and will require multi‑year project management and coordination with state systems.
Ending: The contract execution was reported as an informational item; staff will provide implementation updates as the project advances.
