Murray School District appoints Bruce Eschler as secondary director; Emily Byrd named at‑risk programs director

The Murray School District Board of Education voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Bruce Eschler as the district’s Director of Teaching and Learning for Secondary and Emily Byrd as Director of At‑Risk Programs, both positions effective July 1, 2025.

District leaders presented Eschler’s appointment as a return to the district. The presenter said Eschler "has 20 years of experience in education" and "started his education career here in the Murray City School District at Eagle Crest Junior High School." The board moved and seconded the nomination and the motion carried with the board chair calling for a voice vote and stating, "All in favor."
