VFW honors student Jaden Miniman; high school announces April performances of 'Shrek the Musical'

Stocks said the district had one middle‑school applicant for this cycle and that Jaden competed among 1,552 students in Indiana, with 21 advancing at the state level.
Stocks encouraged wider participation next year, noting the Voice of Democracy program (for grades 9–12) and Patriot’s Pen (for grades 6–8) as college‑supporting essay and speech competitions.
Separately, students from Jennings County High School announced two performances of Shrek the Musical. Hannah Webster, a senior who will play Fiona, and Kaiser Daiger, a senior who will play Shrek, told the board the performances are scheduled for April 4 at 7 p.m. and April 5 at 4 p.m. in the Dom Pelkey Auditorium; tickets will be sold at the door and online via the school’s Facebook page.
