The City Commission on March 13 approved a rezoning request and planned‑unit‑development (PUD) overlay for a roughly 4.23‑acre parcel at an intersection described in staff materials as suitable for multifamily residential use.
City planning staff told commissioners the application had been reviewed by the Planning Board, which recommended approval on Jan. 7, 2025. Staff said a developer agreement had been finalized the same afternoon and that conditions attached to the Planning Board’s recommendation had been incorporated in that agreement.
The development agreement describes conceptual PUD terms and the types of housing that would be permitted. Staff noted that final site plans and permits would still be subject to city development‑review and building‑permit processes.
Commissioners voted to approve the rezoning and the development agreement; staff emphasized that infrastructure, traffic and permitting requirements remain conditions of development.
Why it matters: The rezoning and PUD clear the way for a multi‑family project on the site and trigger required development‑agreement obligations, traffic review and subsequent permitting.
