WellnessPoint presents services and GLOW partnership to Longview City Council

WellnessPoint CEO Chad Jones presented the nonprofit’s clinical and social service operations to the Longview City Council and described how the organization works with the Greater Longview Optimal Wellness (GLOW) program to direct high users of emergency services to appropriate care.
Jones said WellnessPoint operates multiple clinic lines across East Texas, including seven public-facing clinics and two social-services sites in Longview. He described WellnessPoint as a federally qualified health center (FQHC) that provides family medicine, OB/GYN, pediatrics, dentistry, mental health and substance-use treatment, and said the center served a little over 35,000 patients in 2024, with more than 12,000 originating from Longview.
“Based on current census estimates, that puts us taking care of approximately 15% of Longview residents last year,” Jones said. He highlighted school-based services at Pine Tree ISD and said the Pine Tree clinic sits outside the school security gate and can be open to the public, while a clinic at Longview ISD is internal and closed to the public for safety reasons.
Jones outlined affordability measures including Medicaid, CHIP, Medicare and sliding-fee discounts up to 200% of the federal poverty level, an on-site state outstation worker for Medicaid enrollment and prescription-assistance programs. He said WellnessPoint participates on GLOW’s steering and operations committees and uses the city’s Pulsara communication platform so messages from GLOW go to multiple staff members to coordinate appointments and care.
Council members thanked Jones and noted school-based access. The presentation was part of a new council series recognizing partner agencies in the Greater Longview Optimal Wellness (GLOW) program.
No formal action was required on the presentation; council members applauded WellnessPoint for its community work and for partnering with GLOW on care coordination for high utilizers of emergency services.
